John 1:19 – 34 (READING NOTES- This was not written as a blog but is a rehash of my Journal notes)

John knew who he was and was comfortable with himself.

He did not aspire to be more than he was. He would not settle for less than he was. Because of that he was not threatened when someone greater came along. He was willing to send/lose followers to him.

Many leaders today want to be more than their giftedness. Their egos are bigger than they are. They aspire to be more than they are or have the gifts to become. That creates tension in their life. To release that tension they sometimes turn to money, drugs- alcohol, power, acclaim or sex. Anything that will feed their ego and fill the “Lack.”

John was the greatest of all who came before him. He knew who he was.

Know who you are. Be all you are. Be comfortable with yourself. Like yourself.
