Is It Possible?
I recently read a novel. Its premise is that the Fallen Angels, demons and others living in hell, escape and attempt to take over the earth. — Far out? Isn’t that really what Satan wants? To usurp the position of God. Can he do it? Not according to my understanding of the Bible. But it is a sobering thought.
Think of the darkness, pain and heartache there would be in the world if Satan ruled. The book shows widespread attacks on humans, destruction of society, law replaced by force, rule by the demonic, frenzy against Christianity and religion, anger against God directed against his creation. Some people even serving the demonic in exchange for power —not much different from the world we live in.
Fiction? Yes. But isn’t that a picture of what is happening in our world? Light against darkness. Truth against lies. Love against force. Jesus against the powers of darkness. Satan and his powers against God and his people. It is a real battle. Stop acting as if it isn’t!
Just look at the news. Satan is attacking more and more pastors and other church leaders through temptations of sex, power and false teachings. You tempt enough people long enough and some will give in. Churches in conflict. Denominations torn apart.
Government in disarray. Constant war and killings. Hunger, disease, populations in turmoil and on the move. “Have nots” wanting what the “haves” possess resulting in conflict. At the same time our churches and denominations are fighting over female pastors, gender ID, levels of wokeness and which political party is right.
Satan is at work. When two groups each claiming to be following Jesus are opposed to one another, at least one must be wrong—maybe both. We need to be careful of who we are really following and how.
Satan is at work! He is a liar and the Father of lies.
