AMAZING
Look at the world around us. Pretty bad, huh? Wars. Hunger. Mass displacements of people. Political parties in disarray. Border crisis. Homelessness. Hopelessness. Inflation. Unusual weather. Widespread fires. Unstable economies. Conflicting politics and policies. Drug overdoses. Unequal Justice system…………….
But in spite of that, churches and their denominations seem to be focused on women pastors, gay pastors, married priests, Calvinism, which translation of the Bible should be used, style of Baptism. Who is going to be selected to leadership and power this year? A multitude of things that will not help any of those life-threatening issues.
Yep, we may be guilty of focusing on the less important as Jesus said, “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.“
