THE WORLD

The World

The Bible indicates that God is deeply involved in his creation. He is so involved that he dresses nature in beauty, such as the flowers of the fields. He is so involved that even the birds of the air do not go unnoticed. He is so involved in my life that my receding hairline is under his intense scrutiny. If I am concerned about something, he is concerned about it.

John 3:16 reminds us that God loves THE WORLD, the created order. Not just souls but the entire created order.  “He reflects the brightness of God’s glory and is the exact likeness of God’s own being, sustaining the universe with his powerful word.” Hebrews 1:3 GNB. He is so deeply involved that the smallest and most insignificant creations are under his watch and care. “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” Matthew 6:26 NLT

All of creation is under his watchful loving care. He created it. He sustains it.

I am made in His image. I am like Him. I voluntarily became part of his kingdom. I pray that his will be done on earth. Mankind’s first assignment in the garden was to take care of his creation. He allows me to participate in what he is doing in The World.  I should have the same attitudes He has. I too should love The World.

As a result:

I put up a bird feeder during the winter months.

I recycle.

I do what I can to not harm our atmosphere or planet.

I avoid others when I am sick. I made the personal decision to wear a mask in case I am a carrier.  I also got the vaccine.

I vote for those who I feel will act on behalf of the poor, the sick, the widow, the prisoner, the powerless, the forgotten, the minority, the created order.

I support those who demand justice for all and religious Liberty for all – even when they have different values and beliefs from mine.

I try to respect people of other religions, races, even sexual orientations. They too are created in the Image of God and are a part of the World. God loves them just as much as he loves me. They are no more “fallen” than I am. It gives me sorrow that they don’t live in a love relationship with Jesus.

I attempt to not judge others who chose to live by different values or who disagree with my religious, political, social, and moral values. I try not to force others, either through laws or intimidation, to follow my standards.

If you disagree with me, that is OK. I will love you and accept you even when you disagree.  After all, you are a part of The World.
